Gems Fortunes operates on a timed match-pair system where players identify and select matching gem tiles from a 3x4 grid against a countdown timer. Each level presents a randomized board populated with six distinct tile types: emerald hexagons, ruby circles, sapphire octagons, amber triangles, golden dragon heads, and ornate letter symbols.
The core loop revolves around speed and pattern recognition. When the level begins, you receive a pair requirement displayed at the top of the board alongside your score goal and remaining time. Successful matches remove tiles from the board and award points based on tile rarity and match speed. Consecutive matches build score multipliers.
Power-up systems add strategic depth. Hint credits reveal one correct match location, while Add Time extends your countdown by fifteen seconds. Both resources deplete with use and can be replenished through level completion rewards or the in-game coin economy. Wild symbols and jackpot wheels introduce bonus mechanics that interrupt standard play with high-reward opportunities.
